Head of State leads closing of the first International Space Congress

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, was present at the closing of the First International Space Congress A Shared Future in the José Félix Ribas Hall of the Teresa Carreño Theater, in Caracas.
The minister of popular power for Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez, highlighted the geopolitical vision of outer space. He recalled that Commander Hugo Chávez “invited us to see beyond the stars, to understand and understand that space is also a territory in dispute, that there are global asymmetries in terms of science and technology.”
The conference included 13 international speakers and experts from the People's Republic of China, the Russian Federation, the Federative Republic of Brazil and the French Republic. The debates focus on space applications, deep space exploration missions and new special technologies.
The activity, organized by the Ministry of Popular Power for Science and Technology and the Bolivarian Agency for Space Activities (ABAE), is celebrated within the framework of the 18th Anniversary of the creation of the ABAE and seeks to promote global cooperation and dialogue on the advances and challenges of the space sector.
