The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, mourned the death of the writer and poet, Damaso Delgado, whom he described as a “great exponent of culture, traditions and our idiosyncrasy”.
“Portuguesa, and all of Venezuela, has lost a great exponent of culture, traditions and our idiosyncrasy, the writer and poet, Damaso Delgado, who left for heavenly grace. My heartfelt message of solidarity, condolences and commitment to his family and supporters!” , wrote the Head of State.
He also pointed out that the poet will be remembered “for his versatility, among others, for his recognized legend, << El Silbón >>, a piece of the Creole sentiment of our country, now widely disseminated within the framework of the Great Mission Viva Venezuela, where the exponents of the affirmative, of what is ours, rely on each other to promote their contributions to beautiful, cool and future Venezuela.”
