The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, reaffirmed that the U.S. empire is deploying interventionist actions against Venezuela, whose objective is a change of regime, to steal the country's resources.

He commented that a report by independent experts from the United Nations (UN), denounces that “Washington's military deployment and covert actions represent a dangerous escalation, which threatens peace and security in the region of the entire Caribbean.”

“What the economic class that currently has power in the United States is looking for is oil and gas and gold from Venezuela. They want our wealth,” he emphasized from the San Carlos Barracks, during the Digital Zone segment, in his program Con Maduro+, broadcast number 95.

In this regard, he asserted that Venezuela is a territory free from the production of coca leaves and cocaine, thanks to the efforts of the Bolivarian Government to intercept drug trafficking that attempts to pass through Colombia.

“The small percentage of 100% of the cocaine that is produced in Colombia, barely 5% tries to pass through Venezuela and of that 5% we are already capturing almost everything and burning and destroying it. A great effort, with evidence, public, notorious,” he said.

In that context, he reiterated that what the United States is looking for in Venezuela, “is a change of regime to steal oil, to steal gas, to steal gold, to seize the beautiful lands we have to produce, to steal the water we have.”
