The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, highlighted this Saturday that this Sunday, July 28, the presidential elections in Venezuela are at stake “if the continent continues on its own independent, sovereign and peaceful path, with everyone creating their own models of progressive change, or if fascism prevails.”

In this sense, during a Meeting with International Companions, he described the electoral process in Venezuela as historic and pointed out that the People are determined to defend peace, democracy, tranquility and respect for our Homeland in the world.

“It wants to be part of the new emerging world and not a colony of the old imperial world,” he pointed out and told international companions that the Venezuelan Electoral System is one of the best in the world, which is also the only one that undergoes 16 audits during the process.

He also emphasized that in Venezuela the voting process is transparent, safe and reliable, unlike other countries that do not carry out audits, but only give the results.

“Why do they ask Venezuela what they don't do in their countries? Why do they come to ask Venezuela for what they don't do in other countries and meddle in their internal affairs? Here we have an Electoral System (...) Venezuela is a country with law and is respected,” he said and mentioned that in another country anyone who is going to oversee elections without invitation would be imprisoned.
