Speaking about the teacher Luis Beltrán Prieto Figueroa, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, assured that he had a wonderful disciple who was Aristobulo Istúriz.

“At the end of the 20th century he was his disciple and we could see him shine in the 21st century, but he left us very early and surprisingly,” he said.

The Head of State believes that a route could be made from Simón Rodríguez, passing through Andrés Bello, Luis Beltrán and Aristobulo Istúriz. “If they want to seek the strength of what the educational quality of Venezuela should be from 2025 onwards, let's look for it in those roots and let's get the new generation of teachers nourished by that wonder,” he said.

“We have had brilliant people in the history of Venezuela. Luis Beltrán was a teacher and creator of the great pedagogy of liberation from Venezuela in the history of the 20th century. We must have something, a kind of special blessing our country has because we have had wonderful people for all fields of life (...) Luis Beltrán Prieto was a 20th century Simon Rodriguez or Andrés Bello,” he said.
