Head of State on Maestro Hugo de los Reyes: Until the last second he was firm, loyal and in combat

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, expressed his words of condolences to the family of Commander Hugo Chávez, regarding the physical departure of the teacher Hugo de los Reyes Chávez, “the Oak of the Plain”.

“I want to express my condolences to the family of our Supreme Commander Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías, to Doña Elena, to her children; I have already spoken to Adán and transmitted my words of solidarity, to his grandchildren, to his granddaughters, to all his villagers in Barinas and to all our people of Venezuela because today the teacher Hugo de los Reyes Chávez has changed from landscape to party,” said the national president.

I also specify that the father of the leader of the Revolution died at the age of 92 “and until the last second he was firm, lucid, loyal in combat, thinking about his people, his countrymen and his countrywomen, his people”.

The head of state recalled that the last time he saw the teacher was at the Caracas Polyhedron, “it was very exciting to see him, very exciting for me and for Cilia because we loved him very much since we met him in 1992.”

“I counted on their friendship and their absolute and total loyalty; on their advice, on their love, on their good humor (...) Fly high, may God keep you in his heights and in his protection forever. Mission accomplished master! We will continue for you in battle and you give me a salute to Commander Hugo Chávez,” he said.
