Head of State: Renewed hope won in Sucre!

“Renewed hope won in Sucre!” , were the words of President Nicolás Maduro when he expressed his gratitude to the People of Sucre for the election of Jhoanna Carrillo as governor of this eastern entity.

From Cumaná, the city where he attended Carrillo's swearing in in front of the head of the Sucrense executive, the National President highlighted the trajectory of the new governor whom he recalled meeting in the streets as part of the organized people.

“I met this girl in social movements and with that oriental force she was forged,” he said and congratulated the people of Sucrense for having elected Carrillo.

“May 25 was not the end of a journey but the beginning of a new phase of a new trajectory on the road to join all the forces of the Sucre state and build true democracy,” he said.

He recalled that this eastern entity is the birthplace of the Grand Marshal of Ayacucho Antonio José de Sucre, whom he described as the executor of South American freedom.

“In Cumana everything is passion, everything is love, everyone is patriotism! Cumaná is the cradle of South American Freedom, it is the land of the Grand Marshal of Ayacucho, Antonio José de Sucre,” he said.
