“Last week there was a statement by the High Commissioner for Human Rights (DDHH), Volker Türk, and it must be recognized in justice that he has put the dots on the i's,” said the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, referring to the alert issued by the official of the United Nations (UN) regarding the presence of U.S. military forces in the Caribbean.

During his program With Maduro+, the National President recalled that Türk has been questioned for his complicit silence in the face of flagrant violations of human rights in the world, as well as for his constant attacks against Venezuela based on lies.

In this regard, he welcomed this position of defense of the rights of Caribbean peoples by the High Commissioner.

“That is the High Commissioner for Human Rights that the peoples of the world need; a high commissioner who defends human rights, the self-determination of peoples and the right to peace,” he said.
