The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, after his appearance before the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), assured that the Carter Center does not have the rigor of the past.

In this sense, he specified that “it is one thing that the center is called Carter and another that it has the rigor of the past”, while specifying that it is directed by an official “who is a salaried employee of the empire”.

The Head of State specified that the international observers from this center “arrived in Venezuela under prejudice, with a report already written,” so he pointed out that “they can give their opinion whatever they want, because they are not the constitutional authority of Venezuela.” He also questioned the fact that the attacks that the National Electoral Council (CNE) system suffered during the transmission of data on July 28, which are “public and notorious”, are not accepted.

With regard to relations with the Government of the United States, he indicated that “I am on the phone every day, 24 hours a day, for when they want to talk”, not before clarifying that his demand is respect for Venezuelan democracy, respect for the independence and stability of the country and the signing of an agreement of understanding for 50 years where they stay where they are and let Venezuela be quiet.
