The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, stressed this Friday that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the United States (USA) has historically tried to destroy the South American country, but it has always failed.
“The CIA historically tried to destroy Venezuela but it failed,” he said during his participation in the Meeting of Parliamentarians of the Greater Caribbean, for Peace, in Caracas, where he assured that the country is experiencing another chapter of siege by US intelligence.
In this regard, he accused Washington of promoting a “permanent agenda of war threats” and of executing a “multiform war” through economic, media and psychological pressures to destabilize the country and justify regime change.
The president stressed that Venezuela has vast natural wealth — gas, oil, gold and water — and a strategic geopolitical position, which motivates attempts at foreign interference.
