The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, participated this Saturday, August 17, in the Great National March for Peace held in the city of Caracas. At the end of the mobilization, he said that once again it was demonstrated that “! The streets belong to the people!”

“When the Chavista people take to the streets, peace is guaranteed (...) Today we had an immense mobilization of the people, I wanted to go out and receive it personally and I came with pushes, smiles and hugs. I am happy to open the doors of this Presidential Palace to its owner, the Venezuelan People, the sole owner of political power in Venezuela. Today I can say with absolute certainty: We won again! Because peace and the people won. They couldn't and will not be able to,” he said.

The Head of State added that the right wing prepared for violence and not only could they not win the elections, but we defeated them in 48 hours. “Today we are still united, celebrating the Revolution and I thank the People for the more than 100 mobilizations registered this Saturday for peace and against fascism.”
