Sunday, December 14, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro,
urged the countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America
(ALBA-TCP) to focus their efforts on agricultural production and the consolidation
of health systems.
In this regard,
during the 25th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the ALBA-TCP, he highlighted the
need to activate productive brigades to take advantage of the agricultural potential
of their national territory, which comprises 30 million available hectares.
“We have to set up for the thing, which is creative work, to make productive brigades to produce in our countries,” he said, pointing to the investment intentions of Asian nations, whose projects already have defined fields and lands. At the same time, he also indicated that plans are ready to start the production of items such as potatoes, rice and corn.
In the same
way, he announced that a period of substantial progress is expected for 2026,
especially in the area of health, taking up the achievements
previously achieved by the greatest leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and Commander Hugo Chávez.
In addition, he indicated that in energy matters, it is also planned to resume the Petrocaribe energy projects that are being worked on. “We decided a year ago to come and invest together and produce all the components of hydrocarbons, from oil, from refining, to petrochemistry and beyond. These are projects that are already quite well designed,” he said.
