The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, this Monday, August 25, highlighted that Venezuela has trained professional military personnel and an excellent defensive system for the protection of the Venezuelan population.

In that direction, he specified that the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), “are the people in uniform in arms and have a great responsibility to guarantee and defend the country's sovereignty, and not allow anyone to threaten and attack it.”

He argued that the FANB has great strengths, and they are: a powerful theory, a strategic concept, doctrine and capacity for immediate action, which will be strengthened through permanent study and preparation at the Bolivarian Military University of Venezuela (UMBV), with the objective of protecting the Nation against any internal or external threat.

The head of state gave a historical account, in which he commented that Venezuela has been building a complex system that “is writing a new military history for the country, from the chronological depth of 500 years of the rise of a powerful army.”

On the other hand, he pointed out that current threats against Venezuela are a great opportunity “to grow, both in terms of quantity and quality and, in this way, to guarantee that each territory remains impregnable, forever; because it is the legacy of Commander Hugo Chávez and of the future generation.”
