The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, confirmed this Thursday that the country has earned the world's respect for the people's defense of national sovereignty.

During the delivery of the comprehensive rehabilitation of the Mariche Metroclable System, in Miranda state, the head of state stated that “in this world they respect neither cowards nor the weak nor the traitors. No one respects cowards, timorous people, double-faced people, hypocrites, scoundrels, gossips, envious people.”

In this regard, he stressed that the world respects “the courageous, the patriots, those who are with the people and play the whole game to defend their homeland. In this world, respect is given to those who fight, those who are advancing, those who are able to defend their ideas and their rights in an inalienable and irrevocable way, as required by our Constitution,” he emphasized.

He stressed that Venezuela “has earned the respect that our word has today, that our country has today to defend its free journey towards a path of people living together in peace.”
