The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, assured that the extreme right seeks to generate an escalation of violence in the country.
During an address given on the night of this Monday, July 29, the Head of State specified that fascism plans to take this starting point to start guarimbas on a national scale with violence. “You know that we are not going to allow it (...) They tried to set fire and do damage in some parts of the country,” said President Maduro, who added that the right wing insists on summoning its “commandos” and followers to alter the country's peace.
To the same extent, the Head of State stressed that “he was estimating that they had an impact on about 10% of those they did in 2013 with Capriles, in 2014 with Machado, Leopoldo López and Antonio Ledezma and in 2017 with Julio Borges”.
