Head of State: With the new system of Popular Government we will leave behind the old bourgeois State

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, stressed that from the four cardinal points of Venezuela “we are building the new system of Popular Government”.

“We are already visualizing this concretion, leaving behind the glimpses of the old bourgeois state, a legacy of the authoritarian neocolonial state and the parasitic bourgeoisie,” he said.

This was stated at the headquarters of the Executive Vice Presidency of the Republic, where he led the activation of the National Chamber of the Popular Government System, to consolidate direct, participatory and leading democracy.

The head of state emphasized that the Bolivarian Government is directing all its efforts in that direction. “Together we are in the process of building a new state, free from corruption and oppression. Let's reflect on our past to move towards a better future,” he stressed.

In his speech, he took a journey through the history of Venezuela, with the installation of the colonialist State, going through several historical stages of the country, in order to offer the People a frame of reference regarding the way the oligarchy governed, against the interests of the population.

In that regard, he argued that “the history of our State is complex and painful. Since colonialism, until today, we have seen how power has been used to destroy and plunder.”

In this context, he ruled that “no one in Venezuela is going to be chicopaled or their eyes or forehead lowered on any empire that exists on Earth.”
