The men's under-17 volleyball national team secured its presence in the World Cup category in Qatar, after winning the bronze medal in the South American team of the discipline that was held in Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina.
In their last match of the competition, Venezuela defeated Chile 3-1 to climb to third place on the podium, according to a press release from the Ministry of Sports.
The national sextet went to a South American under-17 for the second time in its history, at the beginning it fell to Brazil and Argentina, and then beat Peru in straight sets 3-0 (25-15, 25-12 and 25-17) and fought for third place with Chile.
The under-17 volleyball world championship will be held in Doha, Qatar, from August 19 to 29, 2026.
The men's sextet emulated the women's under-17 team that was crowned for the first time in a South American team last year, defeating the always-powerful Brazil 3-0 (25-22, 25-14 and 25-14) and also sealed the ticket for the first time to a World Cup to be held from August 5 to 16 in Santiago de Chile.
