In Honduras, the first suspected case of Monkey Pox (Mpox) was registered because a man from Belén, Lempira, recently deported from the United States, has symptoms similar to the disease.

The Minister of the Ministry of Health, Carla Paredes, assured that it is not monkey pox, but that it is important to carry out the appropriate tests. “We are certain that it is not monkey pox , but we are obliged to investigate,” he said.

This case, if confirmed, would be the first record of monkey pox in the Central American country. The patient is under observation and under strict protocols, reports News 058.

In this regard, the health authorities deployed a biosafety protocol to prevent the possible proliferation of the virus.

Health authorities are taking all necessary precautions, including activating isolation and contact tracing protocols, to prevent a possible spread of the virus.

For its part, Thailand registered its first case of Mpox because a 66-year-old man entered the Asian nation from Africa recently.

The elderly are under medical supervision receiving treatment, however, they are waiting for the results to determine the strain.
