The Argentine Health Guild will hold a national strike in the sector this Thursday, February 22, confirmed the Secretary General of the General Confederation of Labor (CGT), Héctor Daer.
In his account on the social network X, he stated that “in the face of the intransigence of the business chambers, the Board of Directors of the Federation of Argentine Health Workers' Associations as a whole resolves: 24-hour national strike starting Thursday 22/02".
He also said that he would “carry out all the necessary union actions for the recomposition of salaries” of the health colleagues.
For his part, in a review of the Telesur website, Daer points out that in the midst of the lack of agreement in the Wage Council and the refusals of President Javier Milei to sign a decree establishing an amount, there are a “number of conflicts” in each union due to the lack of recomposition of salaries.
After the confirmation of the strike, the services that will be affected this Thursday are: care in clinics, sanatoriums and private hospitals, as well as in laboratories and geriatrics.
Although the Union of Civilian Personnel of the Nation (UPCN) accepted the official proposal of a 12% increase in salaries in February, the Association of State Workers (ATE), the strongest union in the sector, rejected it as “insufficient” compared to 20.6% of inflation in January.
