This Wednesday, the hearing began in the case of the genocide of the Palestinian people, which was presented by the Republic of South Africa against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
“Nothing will stop this suffering except an order from this Court (...) Genocides are never declared in advance, but this court has 13 weeks of evidence,” said the South African legal group headed by John Dugard, professor of international law and former United Nations (UN) rapporteur on human rights.
In this regard, the legal group argued that the Zionist regime has constantly violated the human rights of the Palestinian people, according to a note from TELESUR.
“We are witnessing a catastrophe in Palestine that exceeds the catastrophe of 1948,” they said.
It is worth noting that since October 7, more than 23,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli bombings in the Gaza Strip.
The deadline given to ICJ judges to examine the case is 3 to 6 weeks.
