The use of uncontrolled mobile phones is making education more difficult, Education Minister Héctor Rodríguez warned Monday.
From the Mariano Picón Salas Educational Unit, in Petare, Miranda state, Rodríguez said: “Now, with these little phones, education is more difficult; because the excessive use of these screens from a young age is causing the brain not to develop the same, but to develop more slowly (...) Those screens are addictive.”
In this regard, according to a press release from the Education portfolio, referring to a recent publication of the World Health Organization (WHO), the minister explained that cell phone addiction is not only a problem for children and young people, it is also the responsibility of parents.
In this regard, he called on adults to control the use of telephones and to set an example for their children regarding the good use of technology.
He also said that well used, this technology can help education.
