The persecution carried out by the Donald Trump administration against Venezuelan migrants who have not committed crimes, and their illegal transfer to prisons in other countries, recalls the worst times of fascism, said the sectoral vice-president for Social and Territorial Socialism, Héctor Rodríguez, this Wednesday.
In this regard, during the inauguration of the XIX Student Games, the minister of education also ruled that the Venezuelan people and government have an obligation to report these events to the international community.
Rodríguez referred to the kidnapping of 238 compatriots in prisons in El Salvador, sent by the President of the United States, who, violating the human rights of these citizens, does not comply with the due process of deportation.
“They are people who legally entered the United States, who were working, who have not committed any crime, they persecute them, catch them, and take them without due process to a foreign prison, clearly it's wrong, that's clearly illegal, it's unfair, it's immoral,” said the sector vice president.
He pointed out, according to a press release from the sectoral vice-presidency, that if any citizen commits a crime in another country he must be tried, “but they cannot arrest everyone because of their nationality, accusing them without trial. Everyone has the right to defense (...) Being Venezuelan, being a migrant is not a crime, we have an obligation to defend families.”
