This Sunday, May 19, Iranian state media reported that the helicopter carrying the president of Iran, Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, made a forced landing in the northwest of that country.

According to information from Hispan TV, rescuers are trying to reach the site of the helicopter “incident” in which the president was traveling with a group of people.

According to local reports, the helicopter was forced to make a forced landing due to poor weather conditions in Jolfa, a city in the Iranian province of East Azerbaijan.

They also indicated that poor weather conditions have also prevented rescue teams from reaching President Raisi's helicopter.

Raisi had been in Azerbaijan early this Sunday morning to inaugurate a dam together with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Ilham Aliyev. The dam is the third that the two nations are building on the Aras River.
