Josef Martínez faces a new challenge in the MLS

Venezuelan Josef Martinez signed a contract with the San Jose Earthquakes of Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States.

The announcement of the signing was made by the North American club through its social networks, in which it detailed that the Venezuelan signed a contract for one year (2025) and with the option of extending it to 2026.

Martinez comes from playing last season with Montreal, where he scored 14 goals and gave 3 assists.

This will be the fourth jersey the Venezuelan defends on North American soil after playing for Atlanta United, Inter Miami, Montreal and now San Jose Earthquakes.

He has also played in his native Venezuela with Caracas FC, in Switzerland with BSC YB and Fussballclub Thun, and in Italy with Torino Football Club.

In the MLS, Martínez is in seventh place as a historic goal scorer with 116 points.
