The Venezuelan national team beat the Netherlands in seven 11-0 innings at the Pan-American Stadium in Guadalajara, Mexico and qualified for the first time in its history in the Premier 12 to the Super Round.

With a total of 14 hits, including four home runs, in addition to a solid start by Ricardo Pinto, the Venezuelans left their peers from the Netherlands tied up.

The tricolor delegation, led by Omar López, finished the first phase of the competition with a record of 4-1, to become the leader of group A that it shared with the host Mexico, Panama, the United States, Puerto Rico and the Dutch.

The best bat for the Criollos was Ehire Adrianza, who went 3-3 with two home runs, a double, a ticket, five RBIs and two scored.

On the other hand, from the mound, Pinto shone again in 5.0 innings of work in which he barely received three hits, struck out two rivals and walked none, LVBP press reports.

This tournament brings together the 12 highest-ranked countries in the ranking of the World Baseball and Softball Confederation.

Venezuela became the first place finisher in the Opening Round, which will begin on November 20, in Tokyo, Japan.
