More than 70 homes in the community of Las Lluvias 372, in Pariata, La Guaira state, were treated during an operation carried out through the Expanded Immunization Program (PAI).
According to a press release from the Ministry of Health, a team made up of nine vaccinators went house to house to verify the vaccination cards of children between 0 and 10 years old, identify incomplete schedules and apply the corresponding doses to both infants and adults.
The vaccines administered included toxoid, pentavalent, yellow fever, oral and injectable polio, as well as coverage against measles, rubella and mumps, all offered free of charge.
Betzaida Camacho, coordinator of the Program at ASIC, explained that “we are reinforcing the immunization schedule of our population, especially the youngest, to prevent immunopreventable diseases that still circulate in the environment. This is an opportunity to update the cards and ensure timely protection.”
In addition, Camacho stressed that this deployment is part of an extended day that will be progressively extended to the large communities of the Carlos Soublette parish. In this way, it seeks to strengthen vaccination coverage and reduce epidemiological risks in prioritized sectors.
