Hundreds of people evacuated in southern Malaysia due to floods

In southwestern Malaysia, authorities reported that the number of people evacuated as a result of the recent floods rose to 330.

Heavy rainfall affected 37 localities, including 32 areas in the district of Malacca Tengah and five in Jasin, where temporary aid centers had to be opened to house those in need, Prensa Latina said.

The director of the Malacca Civil Defense Force, Lieutenant Colonel l Kamarulsyah Muslim, reported 5 damaged areas in Jasin and 9 in Malacca and 9 others in Malacca, including four residential areas.
