The Institute for the Arts of the Image and Space (IARTES) will inaugurate this Friday, May 29, in the Gladys Meneses room the collective exhibition “Dialogues, Transits, Miradas”, composed of works by seven Venezuelan visual artists.

The exhibition brings together proposals by Georgianna Abreu, Leonor Basalo, Loly Mar Castillo, Tania León, Yajaira Sánchez, Yasmina Lizardo and Sofía López, with pieces that address everyday life, violence and the alien from the languages of contemporary art, according to the Ministry for Culture.

The curator and artist Yasmina Lizardo explained that the group of works proposes “an ecosystem of forms that transcend mimetic representation to question those paths of representation in the conceptual collapse of everyday life”.

For his part, the general director of IARTES, Zacarías García, highlighted the relevance of the exhibition in highlighting female participation in the visual arts and stressed that the exhibition brings together creators from different generations.

“This is an extremely important project... they are extraordinary Venezuelan artists who represent at least two generations,” García said, while inviting the public to visit the country's exhibition spaces.

The exhibition includes disciplines such as video art, painting and assemblages, consolidating a diverse proposal within the contemporary visual arts scene in Venezuela.
