The prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Karim Khan, asked the 124 members of the entity to comply with the arrest warrants issued against the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, and the former Minister of Defense, Yoav Gallant.

The action was announced after the issuance of two unanimous resolutions by Preliminary Questions Chamber I of the ICC this Thursday, rejecting the appeals of the Israeli government under Articles 18 and 19 of the Rome Statute, and corroborating the arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant

“I call on all States Parties to live up to their commitment to the Rome Statute, by respecting and complying with these court orders,” said the chief prosecutor of the ICC, Karim Khan, in a statement.

Khan stated that his study of the situation in Gaza persisted and that his team was analyzing additional lines of research in areas under the jurisdiction of the Court, which include Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

“I am deeply concerned by reports of escalating violence, the further reduction in humanitarian access and the continued expansion of allegations of international crimes in Gaza and the West Bank,” Khan said.
