The rector of the International University of Communications, Tanía Díaz, led the closing of the III International Communication Congress, at which several initiatives were announced to continue fighting the communication battle.

In that regard, he indicated that Venezuela has been proposed as the headquarters of the Artificial Intelligence Congress, in order to provide tools to the peoples of the world on the use of new technologies. In addition, it was agreed to establish the Hugo Chávez International Popular Communication Network, according to a note from the Ministry for Science and Technology on its website .

“From the formation of an organizational structure of that network, we have a common agenda of struggle, of convening the peoples of the world (...) We constituted ourselves as a network and began to act as a network,” he said.

In addition, he announced the creation of an editorial fund and training platforms, as well as the Hugo Chávez International Prize for Popular Communication and the formation of an international group of researchers to update the map of hegemony in the context of artificial intelligence.

“We have to become collectives, we are academics, filmmakers, journalists, we are a popular communication collective in defense of humanity,” he said.

More than 400 national and international delegates gathered at the III International Communication Congress, with the purpose of discussing the advances and challenges of communication in the digital age, focusing on artificial intelligence and new forms of communication.
