The governor of the state of La Guaira, Alejandro Terán, in telephone contact with the Con El Mazo Dando web team, provided an assessment of the situation in the state, regarding the recent rains that occurred and assured that the necessary equipment was immediately activated to control the effects.

In this regard, he specified that in the Caraballeda parish, two streams increased their flow and left their riverbed, “throwing a large amount of sediment on the road and affecting two vehicles.”

The regional president explained that the diversion of the torrents is due to the amount of scrap and garbage deposited in these spaces, “which causes the course of rainwater to be diverted.”

In this regard, he called on locals to become aware of the damage caused by these obstacles, “this is an issue that if we address it together we can increasingly reduce the risks posed by this type of natural phenomenon”.

He also noted that on Avenida José María España, at the height of the urban planning of the Great Opppe Housing Mission 30, the collapse of the sewage system was addressed.

With regard to the effects of the electricity service, Terán assured that they were treated in coordination with Corpoelec and the Government's service crews.

Finally, he specified that 370 men and women among service crews and security and prevention bodies, as well as backhoes, mini showers and dump trucks are still deployed in the entity attending to the cleaning tasks.
