In Yaracuy they will manufacture and collect toys for boys and girls from La Guaira

From this Wednesday 8th to next Friday, July 10th, the Carmelo Fernández Museum in San Felipe, Yaracuy state, will serve as a center for the collection, production and reception of toys from the “Light and Games for La Guaira” plan.

This initiative, which will take place every three days from 8:30 in the morning to 3:00 in the afternoon, is promoted by the entity's governance, through the Institute for Culture of the State Yaracuy (ICEY), together with the State Cabinet for Culture and the Art Network, entities attached to the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture, and the Association of Toy Manufacturers.

With this plan, these bodies seek to provide recreational tools to contribute to the emotional recovery of boys and girls in the Guaireña state, the state most affected by the double earthquake of June 24.

Josué Rivas, the entity's sole authority for culture, explained that creators and toy artisans from the region will contribute their talent and traditional techniques to the mass manufacture of recreational objects for children.

The manufacturing plan includes the production of robots, wooden carts and puzzles, ABC educational sets and hopscotches, traditional rag dolls, gurrufios and spinning tops.

“In the face of difficulties, solidarity and tenderness become our best tool,” said Rivas, who also emphasized the commitment of the Regional Executive to provide support to affected families through play and recreation.

Rivas extended the invitation to the Yaracuan community to join this cause. “Those who wish to collaborate can go to the museum to make their donations of new toys, in good condition, or educational games, vital contributions to increasing the reach of deliveries in affected areas,” he said.
