India: 70,000 delegates will attend Energy Week in New Delhi

More than 70 thousand energy experts from more than 50 countries are present

The energy conference India Energy Week, attended by more than 70,000 delegates from different countries, including the Russian Federation, began in the capital of that country, New Delhi.

India's Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister, Hardeep Singh Puri, stated that “India's Energy Week has become the second largest energy event in just its third year,” the TASS news agency said.

“It will bring together more than 70,000 energy experts from more than 50 countries. More than 20 energy ministers and their deputies from such important players as Qatar, Russia, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Tanzania and Venezuela have joined the event,” he said.

At the opening ceremony, the Republic's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, delivered a video speech. “Over the past ten years, India has become the fifth largest economy and we have doubled our solar energy capacity. Today, India is the third largest producer of solar energy in the world,” he said.

“The volume of energy production that does not use fossil fuels has tripled,” he added.

India's Energy Week is being celebrated for the third time. This year it is organized in New Delhi. The area of the forum is 28 thousand square meters. More than 100 debates are planned, with 500 speakers from different countries and tens of thousands of participating delegates.

Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez arrived Monday morning accompanied by the Minister of Commerce, Coromoto Godoy, as well as the president of the Marca País Foundation, Daniela Cabello, and other government officials.
