172 children and adults from the indigenous community of Kaputano, located in western Monagas state, benefited from a medical-social-care day, as reported by the director of the Integral Community Health (ASIC) area, Dr. Milagros Mendoza, Ezequiel Zamora.
In statements collected by the newspaper Úlmas Noticias, Mendoza noted that these indigenous people received general medicine and pediatric care, as well as counseling and family education. The children also enjoyed a day full of recreational activities and surprises.
Mendoza assured that this operation is the product of the institutional effort between the National and Regional Governments, who have reinforced the provision of health services in the state.
“It is essential that our indigenous communities, especially our boys and girls, feel valued and supported, which reinforces our commitment to the development of indigenous peoples,” he said.
