Indonesia: US military operation in Venezuela puts regional stability and peace at risk

The Indonesian government expressed deep concern about the U.S. attack on Venezuela and warned that such actions could set a dangerous precedent in international relations.

In a statement released through the social network X, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia reported that it is closely following the evolution of events in Venezuela and expressed concern about the use or threat of the use of force.

The Foreign Ministry affirmed that the United States military operation in Venezuela jeopardizes regional stability, peace and the principles of sovereignty and diplomacy that govern the international order.

Indonesia emphasized that the international community must respect the right of the Venezuelan people to decide their own future, without external interference.

He also called on all parties to privilege dialogue, and to fully comply with international law, including the principles of the United Nations Charter and international humanitarian law.

He asserted that it is necessary to protect the civilian population and noted that their safety and well-being must be a priority in the face of rising tensions.
