This Thursday, deputies to the National Assembly (LAN) honored the mortal remains of teacher Luis Beltrán Prieto Figueroa in the Legislative Palace.

In this regard, the first vice-president of the AN, Pedro Infante, highlighted Pietro Figueroa's educational legacy.

Prieto Figueoa was against the commodification of education,” Infante emphasized.

He stressed that the remains of this distinguished man go to the National Pantheon not because of his political position or the party to which he belonged, but because of his contribution to the country's education system.

“The importance of bringing Maestro Prieto Figueroa to the Pantheon because his life and work represent fundamental values such as justice, equality and dedication to the common good,” he emphasized.

It should be noted that this Venezuelan teacher and political leader dedicated his life to the fight for the construction of a “teaching State” that would guarantee access to free and quality education for all Venezuelans, under the Robinsonian teaching methods of “learning by doing”.
