Intellectuals, researchers and social science professionals will participate in the International Bicentennial Seminar on the Creation of Bolivia 1825-2025, which will be held from August 4 to 6 at the Rómulo Gallegos Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (Celarg), in Caracas.
The event, organized by the Presidential Commission for the Commemoration of the Bicentennial, will allow us to debate, reflect and exchange ideas on this independence event of fundamental importance for the Great Homeland.
During these two days, the seminar will bring together more than 30 national and international speakers, from countries such as Colombia, Spain, Mexico, Cuba and Bolivia, who will present their research, approaches and reflections on the independence of Bolivia.
From an insurgent perspective, participants will bring to the table various issues related to the Bolivarian project, the Southern Campaign, the creation of Bolivia and the constituent process, the unity and integration of peoples, the Panamanian Amphictyonic Congress and the fundamental role of the Liberator Simon Bolivar and the Grand Marshal of Ayacucho Antonio José de Sucre.
On August 6, 1825, the independence of Alto Peru was declared and the Republic of Bolivar was created, which was later called Bolivia, made up of the provinces of Chuquisaca (Sucre), Cochabamba, Santa Cruz, Potosí and La Paz.
