International Progressive Theatre Festival raises curtain in Portuguesa

The Portuguese state became a cultural epicenter with the start of the International Progressive Theatre Festival (FITP) 2025, which opened its doors this Monday with the presentation of the company Anw Jigi Art, originally from Mali.

Under the motto “May humanity be human”, the event stands out for its global reach, bringing together 26 international groups from 19 countries, including Cuba, Spain, Turkey and Italy.

The first performance will be performed by Ana Jigi Art, with her work ¿Tafé Fanga? Le Pouvoir Du Pagne? , presented in the Alberto Ravara room of the Herman Létjer Theater Center in Guanare. This emblematic stage will witness three unmissable shows: on Wednesday the 16th the Iranian group Yaser Khaseb will perform with their play Gift Mysteries or, and on Sunday the 20th La Franja Teatral de Cuba will bring to the stage the production Ana: People are looking at the blood. All performances will begin at 6:00 in the afternoon.

The festival has the fruitful and numerous participation of groups from Cuba, Spain, Turkey, Italy, Iran and Chile. It will offer a total of 87 functions.

With presentations that will take place in Caracas and 11 other regions of the country, the FITP seeks to consolidate itself as a space for artistic encounter that celebrates cultural diversity and humanity. The theatrical party will continue until Sunday, April 20, offering a range of works full of creativity and reflection.
