The National Institute of Land Transport (INTT) announced that from one o'clock in the morning of Thursday 17th to Monday 21st, the movement of cargo exceeding 3,500 kg will be restricted.

This decision was taken with the objective of ensuring road safety during the Safe Holy Week Device 2025, INTT press reports.

The restriction is carried out in accordance with the provisions of Joint Resolution 083 and 022 of the Ministry of People's Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace (MPPRIJP); and of the Ministry of People's Power for Transportation (MPPT), published in Official Gazette No. 42,425, dated July 25, 2022.

However, although the measure is aimed at drivers of heavy cargo units, drivers of vehicles carrying perishable and non-perishable food, and their respective raw materials; road assistance, emergencies, telecommunications equipment for the defense of the nation, as well as officials of police or military units, will be allowed to travel.

Vehicle traffic will also be provided to carriers of drinking water and its chemicals needed for purification, short-term medicines, dry ice, oxygen or liquids for health centers, solid waste of household origin, gas for domestic use, fuels intended for land transport service stations, ports and airports.

In the same way, transit will be allowed to those who transport products for oil, agriculture and livestock activities; as well as to those who transport chemical fertilizers and newspapers.
