INTT announced the partial closure of the Caracas-La Guaira Highway starting this Thursday

The National Institute of Land Transportation (INTT) informs citizens that, in order to guarantee the safety of users, a partial closure of the Caracas - La Guaira Highway will be carried out on Thursday, May 14 and Friday, May 15.

Through a post on its Instagram account, the INTT explained that the partial closure will take place from 09:00 in the morning to 03:00 in the afternoon.

“To ensure mobility, a counterflow device will be activated in the direction of La Guaira - Caracas and the use of the Old Highway as an alternative route is recommended,” the publication states.

He also argued that this measure responds to a technical alert detected at kilometer 5+500, where a meteorized rock of great magnitude was identified that compromises the structural stability of the slope. With the objective of preventing landslides and protecting the physical integrity of those who travel along this road.

In this regard, he announced that mitigation and sanitation maneuvers have begun, which are currently 75 percent complete.

The INTT encourages drivers to take the necessary precautions, respecting the signs and instructions of the competent authorities.
