The presidents of Iran and Türkiye, Masoud Pezeshkian and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, held a telephone conversation this Friday in which they agreed on the need to promote diplomatic channels and dialogue mechanisms to address regional challenges.

The two leaders exchanged views on the current situation and proposed avoiding actions that generate tensions or lead to scenarios of confrontation. Pezeshkian reiterated that Iranian foreign policy is based on mutual respect, the rejection of threats and the use of force, as well as on the search for mutually beneficial agreements.

The Iranian head of state stressed that any negotiation process requires a climate of trust and the willingness of the parties to demonstrate their willingness to abandon actions that fuel conflicts, according to a press release from HispanTV.

During the exchange, Pezeshkian and Erdogan emphasized the importance of regional cooperation and the role of neighboring countries in preserving stability, in addition to the need to strengthen channels of dialogue that contribute to reducing tensions and preventing the expansion of crises.
