The permanent representative of Iran to the United Nations, Ali Bahreini, reported that his country reported the unauthorized use of the Starlink satellite system during recent events in Persian territory.

In a communication addressed to the Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union, Doreen Bogdan-Martin, she requested immediate measures to address this situation.

Bahreini highlighted that the installation and clandestine operation of Starlink terminals in Iran were used by organized groups to coordinate actions, plan sabotage and facilitate training, turning a communications network into a functional mechanism for terrorist activities, Press Tv reported.

The diplomat reiterated the position defended by Tehran on these irregular operations and urged the company responsible for the system to deactivate equipment that operates without authorization in the country.

He also stated that Iran will exercise its sovereignty to interrupt unauthorized transmissions that pose a risk to national security, considering that these practices correspond to the deliberate use of technology for terrorist coordination purposes.
