The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Esmail Baqai, condemned the killing of civilians and attacks on civilian targets and infrastructure, especially hospitals and public facilities in Sudan.

Baqai stressed the need to observe the principles and rules of international humanitarian law, especially the principle of prohibiting attacks against civilian targets and sites.

Around 70 people lost their lives in an attack on the only functional hospital in the besieged city of Al Fasher in Sudan, as announced on Sunday by the head of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Gebreyesus, as part of a series of attacks as the civil war in the African nation intensifies.
