This Tuesday, the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran debated the possible withdrawal of the Persian nation from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), as reported by the spokesman for the presidency of the Shura Council, Abbas Koudarzi.
The measure is part of the proposals to respond to the activation of the mechanism for the automatic reactivation of sanctions, known as snapback, although a final decision has not yet been taken, as reported by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV) on its web portal.
The Shura Council will come to the decision to abandon the Treaty, there will be coordination with the Iranian leadership. Spokesman Koudazi indicated that the activation of the coercive measures will not have a real and effective impact on Iran's economy.
He also stressed that enemies must know the cohesion existing between the Council, the Government, the Supreme National Security Council and all the pillars of the system in order to respond reciprocally to penalties.
