This Wednesday, the Islamic Republic of Iran condemned the United States (US) attacks on Yemen and urged the Security Council to take measures to stop Washington's violation of international peace and security.

This was announced by the spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baqai, who described the US bombings against Yemen as “illegal and a flagrant violation of the fundamental principles and norms of international law”.

The diplomat warned that the US attacks that have destroyed infrastructure and housing in Yemen and caused many civilian casualties “will only further embolden the Zionist regime to continue with the genocide in the occupied territories of Palestine and aggravate instability in the region.”

He also stressed that U.S. air attacks against Yemen violate the territorial integrity of the Arab country and flagrantly threaten international peace and security.
