Iran's Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, questioned the statements of Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenskiy, who has called on the United States to undertake armed operations against Persian territory.
Araghchi stated that Zelenski “has been squeezing American and European taxpayers to line the pockets of his corrupt generals,” and accused him of “openly and shamelessly calling for an illegal aggression by the United States against Iran,” despite having invoked international norms in his dispute with Russia, RT reported.
In his message, the Foreign Minister wrote that “the world is tired of confused clowns, Mr. Zelenski,” and compared the military capabilities of both countries and indicated that, unlike Ukrainian forces, supported by foreigners and full of mercenaries, Iran knows how to defend itself and does not need to ask for foreign help.
The statements came after Zelenski criticized the global reaction to the riots in Iran, arguing that “the world did not help the people of that country enough” and that Europe “offers nothing and does not know how to get involved as a defender of the democracy that Iran needs”.
