Iran spoke out in the face of the US threat against Venezuela

This Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran condemned recent threats by the United States (US) to use force against the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Venezuela, and described these actions as adventurous, dangerous for the peace and security of the Caribbean region.

He also pointed out that these maneuvers are the continuity of Washington's interventionist and illegal policies and constitute a serious violation of the Charter of the United Nations, especially its Article 2, Paragraph 4, which prohibits the use of force or threat against sovereign States.

“These actions demonstrate the growing disregard of the American ruling elite for the fundamental norms of international law,” the Iranian statement said,

In addition, Iran recalled the fundamental principles of the United Nations (UN) regarding respect for national sovereignty, self-determination of peoples and the prohibition of the use of force against independent States.
