In an interview with the national television of the Islamic Republic of Iran, last Tuesday, Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi responded to accusations made by European officials against Iran about its alleged support for Russia in the war in Ukraine.

According to a press release from Hispantv, Araqchi accepted that Europeans are concerned about the situation in Ukraine, however, the war is not limited to that country, so he assured that the entire West is mobilized and involved in this conflict.

“It's natural for them to be concerned about Iran's policies, but in our view, there's no justifiable reason for this concern. We have always supported the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” he said.

According to the Iranian foreign minister, “the weapons they gave to the Zionist regime to commit genocide and aggression against Gaza, Lebanon and Syria are there. You can't just be right and be worried.”

“You can't ignore Europe's thorn in the side of the rest of the world. We are willing to dialogue with Europe, but it must be based on mutual interest,” he stressed.
