The Government of Ireland announced that it is joining the legal process in rejection of genocide presented by South Africa against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
In that regard, Foreign Minister Michael Martin emphasized that Israel's brutal military offensive against the Gaza Strip, which has claimed more than 32,490 civilian lives, represents a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law on a large scale.
The diplomat listed some of the crimes committed by the Zionist State; “the intentional withholding of humanitarian assistance to civilians. Attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure. The indiscriminate use of explosive weapons in populated areas. [...] The collective punishment of an entire population,” Martin said in a statement, listing some of the war crimes committed by the occupying entity in the coastal enclave; while stating that these violations of international humanitarian law must be ended.
The minister recalled that the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has demanded an immediate ceasefire, the lifting of any blockade that interrupts the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, as well as the release of Israeli detainees in the custody of the Palestinian Resistance.
