Amid Beirut's opposition to a new extension of the truce with Israel, the Zionist army began building military posts in southern Lebanon, as confirmed by the Israeli television channel Kan 11.

A secret agreement between Washington and the Tel Aviv regime that allows occupying troops to remain in Lebanese territory even beyond the February 18 deadline. Israel had requested an extension of at least 10 more days, until February 28, but the United States (US), together with the oversight committee of the truce, opposed the idea.

The media quoted by Telesur, the US authorities approved an alternative plan that allows the presence of Israeli troops at five specific points to monitor southern Lebanon.

The Zionist government justifies this measure and argues that the Lebanese Islamic Resistance Movement (Hezbollah) seeks to recover its positions after the recent war.
